About Short Breaks in Lincolnshire-

Based with the Lincolnshire County Council this is a project run by Barbara Simpson for young people 11+ who have moving handling and equipment needs ans for children and young people where challenging behaviour is associated with other learning problems.

What we do

We are aiming to increase the volume of short breaks available to disabled children and their families by providing the following types of activities, Sports clubs, Dance clubs, Bowling clubs, Horse riding clubs, Drama (to include music and singing) clubs and Swimming activities - specifically for pools to open occasionally during the week, or at weekend, for groups of children and young people with the disabilities to have exclusive access the pool with their families. we are looking at accommodation for the whole family and also learning packages for children and a sitting service in the future.

What we cost

Funding is available to buy specialised equipment and/or initial outlay. There are both capital and revenue strands available however any activities developed must be self sustainable in the long term. Lincolnshire County Council is looking to commission at least one of each of these clubs within each district.
