About Lincolnshire Art for Health
Small friendly groups aimed at those who have recently been ill or individuals with enduring mental health problems who do not feel confident enough to join public art groups at the moment.
What we do
Don't worry if you feel you can't draw or paint, group leader Karen Thompson will introduce techniques aimed at encouraging you to explore your creativity in a safe supportive environment. It's hoped that the small friendly groups (a maximum of 6 participants) held in venues close to home, will provide an environment in which to regain self-confidence and motivation.
If you decide to join one of the groups, Karen will ask you to complete a registration form, which will give her permission to contact your Care Co-ordinator or another professional who might be able to help provide a fuller picture of your needs.
What we cost
The weekly sessions last two hours and the cost for ten sessions is £120, this includes materials and all other costs. After ten weeks an additional five-week course will be offered at a cost of £60 for those who would like to pursue this activity further. Hopefully at the end of the sessions participants might feel able to access other community based art groups.
For those who are eligible, Direct Payments or Personal Budget monies may be available and the aim of moving on to other community-based groups may help you achieve 'Outcomes' within your Individual Budget Plan.
Where we operate
Lincolnshire Art for Health presently serves Gainsborough, Kirton in Lindsey, Market Rasen, Nettleham, Saxilby and surrounding villages.
