Jane Travis is a Counsellor and Therapist based near Lincoln. She offers general counselling and therapy for a wide range of issues and also group counselling for compulsive overeaters. What we do

We all go through difficulties from time to time in our lives, and often the support of friends and family can help us to get through it. However sometimes we may not feel able to turn to them - we don't want to worry them, or worry we may be judged, or that they wont keep a confidence. Or we may feel alone and unheard. At these times working with a friendly, down to earth and professional counsellor can be invaluable. I can help you to look at things from a different perspective, help you understand what's happening for you. Look at things you may be able to change and accept those you aren't. If you are caught in a cycle of repeating bad habits and behaviour then therapy will help you to understand how this is happening and change these aspects of your life. I am a member of Counselling Charity which is a registered charity caring for emotional health. It has a network of 2700 affilated CCC registered counsellors. What we cost

I offer a free initial session which gives us the opportunity to meet. It is important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist and an initial meeting will help to establish this. It is also a chance for me to ensure that I consider myself to be the best person to deal with the problem presented. If I don't, I will suggest other avenues more suited to you. The cost of counselling is £30 for each 50 minute session, payable on booking. This is a private counselling practise, I am not funded by the NHS nor do I receive grants. I try to keep my counselling as affordable as possible. I hope you understand the costs associated with running a professional service. However if money is a serious concern I do occasionally charge a reduced rate.

Approved By or Acredited By

I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is the governing body for counselling. As a Member of BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure therein. I also adhere to their recommendations for regular supervision. I am an accredited member of The Counselling Society
