About Journey 4 Life- Independent Travel Training

Part of the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, Independent Travel Training is facilitated by Independent Travel Trainers who are accredited through the Open College Network.The Service is provided by Lincolnshire County Council.When individuals are Identified as ready for independent travel by College or Parents or school they can be referred. It can be travel on foot,by bicycle or public transport.

What we do

A Trainer works with the young person and it can take place at College, school or home and can focus on full jouneys that the young person will make. Travel trainers accompany and empower and support the young person to travel as independently as possible. There is no time limit. The young person has to achieve independence.

What we cost

This service is provided by LCC at no charge to schools, colleges or parents of young people who attend school in Lincolnshire.
