About Stamford Community Car Scheme

Christ Church took the Car Scheme over from Stamford Volunteer Bureau after this was closed down in October 2006. In the first two years of operation the scheme completed 4000 journeys across the Stamford and Bourne area. This has now been developed into a financially sustainable project with minimal outside funding.

What we do

We have over 500 members and 35 volunteer drivers. The scheme provides not only low cost transport but essential human contact and an pastoral support for vulnerable and isolated individuals of all ages. We also operate a disabled access minibus to meet the needs of individuals and groups in the Stamford area who are currently unable to access transport of this type. Our Booking line operates Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm.
